Job summary

County of Colusa is seeking a Senior Deputy Probation Officer to promote professional growth and lead department programs, including GPS supervision, the Work Program, and DRC initiatives. Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of experience performing duties equivalent to Deputy Probation Officer II.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in law enforcement, criminal justice, or a closely related field.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid driver’s license.
• Completion of the STC Probation Officer CORE Course.
• Possession of California Penal Code 832 Certification.
• Ability to obtain MRT and BTP certification within a timeframe established by the department.
• Possession and maintenance of First Aid and CPR certification; and completion of required Force and Weaponry training.

Responsibilities

• Promote professional growth and leadership within the department; assume leadership roles in programs including GPS supervision, the Work Program, and Day Reporting Center (DRC) programming.
• Mentor and resource to staff; assist with onboarding and training of new employees; coordinate with allied agencies; collect and report program data; lead field operations when appropriate.
