Job summary

Roblox is seeking a Senior Privacy Software Engineer to design and build privacy infrastructure at scale. You will work across distributed systems, data platforms, and security to protect user data and meet global privacy obligations.

You will partner with engineers, product, security, legal, and policy teams to embed privacy controls and enable user privacy rights at scale. This role is based at our San Mateo, CA headquarters with onsite collaboration.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience operating production systems at scale.
• Expertise in Python or Golang.
• Experience with ETL, metadata systems, or data governance solutions.
• Deep understanding of data privacy, security technologies, and data governance principles.
• Familiarity with GDPR, CCPA.

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable privacy infrastructure for data discovery, governance, and protection at scale.
• Develop backend services, APIs, and data pipelines embedding privacy controls into engineering workflows and enabling privacy rights at global scale.
• Analyze large-scale data systems to identify privacy risks and improve data governance and lifecycle management.
• Build monitoring, auditing, and reporting capabilities to ensure privacy controls are reliable and measurable.
• Collaborate with engineers, product teams, security, legal, and policy stakeholders to advance privacy across the platform.
