Job summary

Dark Wolf is seeking a Data Privacy Subject Matter Expert to join a collaborative team to develop, manage, and maintain the privacy and data compliance posture of information systems. The role focuses on PIAs, PII governance, and policy development aligned with customer needs.

Based in the Washington DC/Northern VA metro area with a hybrid schedule, the SME will work with program managers, ISSMs/ISSOs, and system engineers to characterize data flows and ensure regulatory compliance across DoD

Qualifications

• 7+ years of data privacy or information assurance experience.
• One or more professional privacy or security certifications (e.g., CIPP/G, CIPM, CIPT, Security+ CE).
• Experience with PIAs, PII inventories, or Privacy Analyst roles in federal/DoD environments.
• Hands-on experience with data discovery, compliance management, or workflow tracking tools.
• Familiarity with federal privacy regulations, NIST privacy frameworks, and risk management policies.
• Ability to translate technical data architectures into plain privacy risk narratives.
• US Citizenship with active Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and maintenance of privacy postures for federal information systems (DoD-focused).
• Conduct PIAs for federal systems and coordinate SORNs where needed.
• Collaborate with PMs, ISSMs/ISSOs, and engineers to map data flows and PII.
• Coordinate DoD privacy office review workflows with privacy leadership.
• Provide guidance on PII governance and policy development.
• Ensure contractor-touching systems comply with DoD/DoW guidance.
