Job summary

Amalgamated Bank seeks a Privacy Officer to lead the enterprise privacy program, ensuring compliance with GLBA and state privacy laws and embedding privacy-by-design across the organization. You will partner with Legal, Compliance, IT, Information Security, Risk, and business units as the internal privacy expert.

The role covers privacy program management, AI privacy oversight, vendor and product privacy advisement, incident response, and privacy training and governance reporting.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years in privacy, data protection, compliance, risk management, or related field (financial services preferred).
• Strong knowledge of U.S. privacy laws applicable to financial institutions (GLBA, state laws).
• Experience developing or managing privacy policies, procedures, and controls.

Responsibilities

• Define and manage the enterprise privacy program, incl. policies, standards, and controls.
• Embed privacy-by-design in the AI lifecycle and review AI use cases for privacy risk.
• Advise on privacy requirements for products, services, marketing, and vendor engagements.
• Coordinate privacy-related incident response, investigations, and post- incident remediation.
