Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Sr. Principal Systems Engineer (Comms) to join the Mission Systems team in Linthicum, MD. This on-site role requires a Secret clearance and offers a broad scope across COMMS waveforms, architectures, and system integration.

You will mentor engineers, support proposals, and work with internal and external customers on end-to-end COMMS solutions. The position emphasizes security and mission-focused engineering excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of experience or advanced degree with required experience.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Current/active U.S. Government Secret Clearance.
• Experience in Comms applications, including models in MATLAB, Python, and/or C/C++.
• Experience developing and implementing novel systems.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical SME for COMMS waveforms, capabilities, and CONOPS across programs.
• Provide technical guidance to internal stakeholders and customers.
• Develop COMMS technology roadmaps aligned with needs and strategies.
• Lead design reviews and supervise junior engineers in COMMS domain.
• Review performance models, link budgets, and system-level estimates.
• Support proposal development and customer briefings.
