Job summary

Solidus is seeking a highly skilled Senior Principal Systems Engineer to join a flagship program within the Space Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (SISR) business unit.

In this role, you will apply your expertise in requirements development, architecture and design refinement, systems engineering analysis, scripting, and interface definition and control to help drive mission-critical solutions in a dynamic and impactful environment.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
• 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with ConOps development, capability elaboration, and program increment support.
• Government contract development experience.
• Experience with Agile principles and Agile systems engineering roles.

Responsibilities

• Elaborate capabilities and interfaces; define system validation and verification strategies.
• Create use cases; analyze how the system works.
• Automate test procedures and analyses to support integration testing.
• Identify and resolve technical issues during software/hardware integration.
• Manage team backlog and capacity across program increments.
• Support EVMS implementation and execution.

Job description

This position requires onsite work in Aurora, CO and an active TS/SCI security Clearance. Candidates who do not hold this clearance are not eligible for hire.

Solidus is seeking a highly skilled Senior Principal Systems Engineer to join a flagship program within the Space Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (SISR) business unit. In this role, you will apply your expertise in requirements development, architecture and design refinement, systems engineering analysis, scripting, and interface definition and control to help drive mission-critical solutions in a dynamic and impactful environment.

Day In The Life

• Elaborate capabilities and features, define system interfaces and help determine how system functional capability and performance will be validated and verified by the test team
• Analyze and define how the system works creating use cases
• Support the execution of the integration and test program by automating test procedures and subsequent analyses
• Identify technical issues during software and hardware integration and collaborate with engineers to drive solutions to closure
• Manage the team's backlog and capacity during each program increment
• Support Earned Value Management System (EVMS) implementation and execution
• Collaborate with program management and engineering teams to ensure alignment of scope, schedule, and budget
• Conduct investigation into system anomalies to identify root cause
• Support and attend technical reviews and technical interchanges in support of the program
• Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Active TS/SCI clearance is required
• Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) in a related field
• 10 years of relevant experience
• Cultural fit amongst a collaborative team environment
• Experience with systems engineering lifecycle, roles and functions, with specific experience in one or more of the following areas: Concept of Operations (ConOps) development, capability and feature elaboration and management, program increment support, functional analysis or interface definition and contro
• Development experience on a government contract
• Experience with Agile principles, to include Agile systems engineering practices and/or Agile roles such as Scrum Master / Product Owner

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

• Development experience in project domain (e.g., mission management large-scale ground systems, space-based ISR platforms)
• Experience working in an Agile development environment and with Agile development tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, etc.)
• Experience with MBSE tools (e.g., Cameo Systems Modeler)
• Experience with scripting languages such as Bash, Python, Perl, Groovy, or Ruby
• Experience building automation, developer tooling, and lifecycle reporting for large, distributed software programs
• Experience with test automation tools (Cucumber, Gherkin, Behave)
• Experience with requirements management in DOORS or other requirements databases

Benefit selection, customer contractual specifications, relevant work experience, skills, competencies, certifications, and clearance status will influence the final salary.

• Full benefits: $172,500 to $215,500 annually
• Reduced benefits (no medical, dental, vision): Up to $233,000 annually
