Business Unit: Cubic Defense. Cubic is a technology solutions company that creates and delivers transportation and defense products to simplify daily journeys and support mission success for national defenders.

Job Summary

Works independently as a technical project leader, applying engineering principles, procedures and techniques to systems engineering assignments for electronic and software‑intensive systems and subsystems. Coordinates activities for proposals and new business, and provides technical guidance and supervision across interdisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities
  • Provides technical direction to systems engineering programs, team members and managers.
  • Outlines and communicates the most appropriate technical approach for business development activities.
  • Determines the technical direction and strategy for solving complex, significant or major issues.
  • Identifies, investigates and resolves technical issues.
  • Plans and evaluates architectural design, reviews system performance, and identifies technical risks and develops mitigation strategies.
  • Communicates technical advancements through briefings and technical papers to co‑workers, management, customers and technical community.
  • Maintains state‑of‑the‑art awareness in areas of technical expertise such as changes, advancements and improvements.
  • Applies expertise to all areas of systems engineering, including analysis of system design problems and performance studies.
  • Specializes in RF systems for line‑of‑site and beyond‑line‑of‑site communications, performing cascade analysis and link‑margin calculations.
  • Develops algorithms and plans, conducts and directs research and development.
  • Directs, coordinates and contributes to compilation and writing of proposal documents.
  • Prepares design proposals to reflect cost, time, and alternative solutions.
  • Provides functional or resource‑planning guidance to program, engineering and management staff.
  • Interfaces with team members, management, customers, subcontractors and vendors.
  • Solves complex and difficult engineering problems and identifies systems engineering process improvements.
  • Mentors and serves as team lead, assuming additional technical and leadership responsibilities when needed.
Minimum Requirements
  • Four‑year college degree in electrical engineering or related technical discipline, or master’s degree with ten years of experience.
  • Minimum twelve years of related experience (or ten years with a master’s degree).
  • Active DoD Security Clearance.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency with personal computer software such as spreadsheets and word processing programs.
  • Experience using DOORS, EPDM and AllChange.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Ability to work under project deadline pressures and manage cost and schedule constraints.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for interfacing with customers, subcontractors and vendors, and working with employees and managers at all levels.
Pay Range

$193,000.00 – $220,000.00 + benefits.
