Baxter International Inc. in the United States seeks a Senior Principal Software Systems Engineer to lead software systems development for Infusion Pump Platforms and connected digital applications, guiding architecture and design within regulatory standards.

You will mentor a distributed team, drive agile processes, ensure risk management and verification strategies, and translate user needs into compliant system requirements while delivering high-quality medical device software.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in engineering with a Bachelor’s or 8+ years with a Master’s degree in a related field.
• Experience with regulated medical devices and connected systems.
• Knowledge of Agile/SDLC and systems engineering in a medical context.

Responsibilities

• Lead software systems development and product lifecycle activities with Agile PDLC/SDLC methods.
• Provide technical leadership to a distributed R&D team and mentor others.
• Develop innovative software solutions for complex system challenges.
• Help establish robust system/software architectures and ensure interoperability.
• Translate user needs into functional and non-functional requirements.
• Write and own system/software design inputs aligned with QMS and ISO 13485/IEC 62304.
