Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Colorado Springs seeks a Sr. Principal Software Signal Processing Engineer to join the DARC program. You will develop and optimize radar DSP software, collaborate with hardware teams, and contribute to signal processing pipelines using CUDA and AI-assisted tooling.

Required experience includes C++, Python, Linux, RF signal processing, and an active DoD Secret clearance. Base salary range is provided with potential bonuses and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus years of experience as specified (8 years with a B.S., 6 years with an M.S., 4 years with a PhD)
• Active DoD Secret clearance at time of application
• Experience with C++, Java, Python and CUDA

Responsibilities

• Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs applications software and systems with complex logic and math
• Collaborates with hardware engineers in planning, design, and utilization of software for products and systems
• Determines user needs and analyzes system capabilities to resolve issues and design supporting tools and compilers
• Develops and optimizes radar signal processing algorithms and pipelines (DSP) using toolchains like DSP System Toolbox and related suites
• Leverages GPGPU acceleration (e.g., CUDA) for performance-critical workloads
• Uses AI-enabled tooling to accelerate development tasks while maintaining engineer accountability for code
