Job summary

Raytheon in Tucson is seeking a Principal Engineer for Solid Propulsion to lead the propulsion system integration across missile and space platforms. You will coordinate with development and production programs, manage subcontractors, and deliver technical presentations to customers.

The role requires a STEM degree with 8+ years of relevant experience, U.S. citizenship, and the ability to obtain a DoD security clearance. Onsite work in Tucson with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a Bachelor in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience. An advanced degree may substitute for additional years of experience.
• Experience in development of solid propulsion systems.
• Ability to obtain or transfer a DoD security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Apply or develop advanced technologies for propulsion system integration into missile systems and space vehicles.
• Lead development and production programs across Raytheon product lines.
• Review manufacturing processes and manage subcontractor design and manufacturing activities for propulsion systems.
• Present technical capabilities and future directions to management and government agencies.
• Manage propulsion system development projects and subcontracts; oversee supplier operations.
