Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking Principal and Senior Principal Engineers to join AWS Compute and ML Services. You will own the technical architecture and hands-on delivery of critical systems spanning compute platforms, ML infrastructure, serverless runtimes, security foundations, or silicon integration.

The role requires leading large, multi-team initiatives across AWS, driving architecture decisions, and mentoring engineers to elevate technical standards while delivering secure and scalable

Qualifications

• 10+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• Experience owning technical architecture, end-to-end delivery, and partnering with senior leadership.
• Track record of leading multiple concurrent technical initiatives and driving decisions that stuck.
• Experience influencing across organizational boundaries without positional authority.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical architecture and hands-on delivery of critical systems across compute and ML platforms.
• Drive end-to-end design decisions from hardware interfaces to APIs with latency, security, and reliability as priorities.
• Lead cross-team initiatives spanning multiple AWS organizations to deliver cohesive systems.
• Author and champion technical vision documents and influence product roadmaps.
• Mentor senior engineers and raise the technical bar through reviews and hands-on leadership.
• Establish and raise the operational bar: you build it, you own it.
