We are seeking a skilled professional to perform technical work in support of the Facilities Management & Engineering organization. Primary responsibilities include maintaining critical building, systems, and infrastructure drawings, databases, and diagrams, as well as creating and managing detailed 3D models, layouts, illustrations, and maps. This role collaborates closely with planning, space management, architects, and engineering personnel to support engineering, operations, and maintenance projects.
The ideal candidate will apply mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineering systems expertise, along with relevant technical knowledge related to design, drafting, information gathering, and systems interpretation.
This position primarily requires Revit-based Building Information Modeling (BIM) technical expertise. The candidate will utilize strong engineering design, modeling, and drafting skills, and demonstrate proficiency with various engineering toolsets, including, but not limited to, 3D BIM and drawing management applications. The candidate will also be responsible for performing quality assurance reviews on project documents and updates.

The Sandia CADD/BIM department delivers comprehensive management of Facilities Engineering building and systems records. Our team specializes in both 2D CADD and 3D BIM software technologies, ensuring accurate and efficient documentation. Additionally, we employ advanced Light Imaging Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) technology to rapidly capture and provide data sets of existing and as-built conditions. LiDAR is utilized across our Design, Construction, Operations, and Maintenance departments.
The team offers matrixed design services to various internal customers and supports the In-house Design department. We also collaborate with external Architectural Engineering (A/E) partners to ensure high-quality project deliverables. The department is recognized as a leader within the Department of Energy (DOE) community for its expertise in similar work and technology.
