Job summary

WECTEC Staffing Services is seeking a Commercial Grade Dedication (CGD) Subject Matter Expert (SME) for AP1000 projects. This long-term contract role offers remote work and reports to the Manager of Operations.

You will lead CGD oversight, review supplier programs, and ensure compliance with nuclear safety and QA standards while collaborating with suppliers and EPC teams across projects globally.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Nuclear, Civil, or related).
• 15+ years nuclear industry experience in CGD and procurement engineering.
• Knowledge of 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR Part 21, nuclear QA, and EPRI CGD guidance.
• Experience reviewing or governing supplier CGD programs.
• AP1000 or new build / EPC project experience.
• Background in Design Authority or engineering oversight roles.
• PE license or advanced degree.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Design Authority SME for CGD across AP1000 projects.
• Determine safety function and critical characteristics from design docs.
• Review supplier CGD procedures, plans, methodologies.
• Evaluate technical adequacy of item determinations and CCs.
• Ensure compliance with 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, Part 21, and EPRI CGD guidance.
• Resolve technical gaps, risks, nonconformances.
• Collaborate with suppliers, EPC partners, and engineering teams.
• Integrate CGD requirements into design, procurement, construction.
• Develop CGD guidance, training, and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Westinghouse is looking for a Commercial Grade Dedication (CGD) Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support AP1000 new build projects. You will be a technical leader, providing oversight, review, and governance of supplier CGD programs.

You will ensure commercial-grade items used in safety-related applications meet design, regulatory, and quality requirements. You will focus on approval of supplier CGD programs—not performing dedication.
