Qualifications

• 5+ years in preconstruction, estimating, or related roles in residential or light-commercial construction.
• Experience managing estimators/preconstruction staff.
• Ability to read architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• In-person, Ventura/Santa Paula area and Bevyhouse environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead preconstruction from early design through handoff.
• Mentor the company estimator and oversee estimating workflows.
• Develop and maintain project budgets from concept to final pricing.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids.
• Review scopes for cost, constructability, and schedule risks.
• Collaborate with design team to align budget and buildability.
• Lead value-engineering to simplify construction without losing design quality.
• Develop procurement plans aligning purchasing, lead times, and factory production.
• Foster supplier relationships for bulk pricing and direct purchasing.
• Standardize repeatable components and prefabrication opportunities.
• Coordinate project logistics including modular transport and staging.
• Maintain historical estimating data for future pricing.
• Provide complete handoff to project management.
