Job summary

Holder Construction is seeking a Senior Engineer to join our Preconstruction team in Herndon, VA. This full-time, in-person role supports project cost management, design coordination, and purchasing activities on regional projects.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in construction management or a related field and 4–6 years of experience in construction management, preconstruction, or estimating, plus strong communication and time-management skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or a related construction/engineering field.
• 4-6 years of experience in construction management, preconstruction, or estimating.
• Outstanding communication and time management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and scheduling software.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Willingness to relocate.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand construction design documents and specifications.
• Perform construction cost estimates and quantity surveys for various scopes of work.
• Manage cost and design issues throughout project phases.
• Coordinate and manage trades, with exposure to BIM processes.
• Oversee all purchasing required to support projects, including scope coordination, proposal evaluation, trade negotiations, and contracting.
