Job Title: Senior Power System Engineer

Overview

ETAP, a member of Schneider Electrical Energy Management Software Division, is seeking a senior power system software engineer with extensive knowledge of design, modeling and analysis of power system transients, electrical machines, harmonics, short‑circuit, and power electronics. Responsibilities and Duties

• Research, design, write specifications and prototype various power system algorithms and device models.
• Support and develop electrical engineering simulation engines such as load flow, short circuit, harmonics, transient stability etc.
• Design algorithms, numerical methods, and high-performance software in C++.
• Collaborate with management, departments, and customers to identify end-user requirements and specifications.

Qualifications

• Experience in modeling and analysis of power system load flow, dynamics, short‑circuit or stability analysis engines.
• Capabilities to research, design and testing of various power system simulation models.
• Ability to follow various industrial standards and write specifications.
• Ability to program in mathematical computation language such as Fortran, C++ and C#.
• Highly motivated, self‑managed, detail‑oriented and well organized.
• Good mathematical problem‑solving and analytical skills.
• Desirable to have experience in unbalanced power system modeling, electromagnetic transients and power electronics.
• Desirable to have experience using power system simulation software such as ETAP, SKM, PSS/E, Power World, EMTP, PSCAD.
• Analytical and problem‑solving skills to troubleshoot software algorithm problems.
• Excellent communication skills.

Education

PhD or MS Degree in Power System Engineering or Electrical Machinery with graduate work on simulation software.

MS in computer science with a strong understanding of electrical systems and 5+ years of experience will be considered.

Salary Range: 104,500.00 - 174,500.00 USD
