Job summary

Critical Power Consulting P.C. (CPC) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Project Engineer to lead electric utility projects for diverse clients, including data centers, hospitals, and financial institutions.

The Senior Project Engineer will manage large-scale projects, serving as the primary client contact for project solutions and directing overall project engineering/management with guidance from senior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Experience with power system analysis software such as PSSE, PSCAD, PowerWorld or PSLF.
• Engineer in Training or Professional Engineering License or on track toward licensure preferred.
• Experience with project management with infrastructure projects.
• Specific experience with electric utility power infrastructure; MV/HV design/construction, metering, and/or project eng/PM preferred.
• 10-15 years in electric utility construction in a project engineering/management role.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Visio; eager to learn new platforms.
• Utility distribution/transmission experience and familiarity.
• Direct involvement with distribution/transmission systems or building infrastructure systems.
• Datacenter construction experience preferred.
• Direct involvement with client interactions.

Responsibilities

• Manage project-related power infrastructure services including technical, regulatory, and financial analysis.
• Respond to client inquiries, exceeding expectations.
• Analyze and present client reporting information.
• Coordinate with principal and project engineers, managing internal and external resources.
• Take lead on project meetings, client schedules, documentation, and budget tracking.
• Guide junior Project Engineers to provide markups in Visio, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes.
• Lead and mentor Project Engineers on project work and client relationships/expectations.
