Job description

What You Will Do

We are seeking a Senior Power Platform Developer to support Department of Homeland Security (DHS) / Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) programs.

This role is focused on Microsoft Power Apps and Power Automate delivery and requires deep, hands‑on experience building workflow‑intensive, user‑facing applications in sensitive federal environments.

The position supports DHS/ICE operational systems where workflow accuracy, usability, and reliability are critical. Successful candidates will demonstrate sufficient experience and strong practical experience designing workflows and polished user interfaces in Power Platform.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and support complex Power Apps (Canvas and Model‑Driven) used for DHS/ICE operational and program management workflows
  • Develop and maintain Power Automate workflows including multi‑step approvals, routing logic, notifications, and exception handling
  • Ensure workflows operate correctly in high‑sensitivity client environments, where errors pose delivery and compliance risk
  • Design clean, intuitive UI/UX that enables adoption by non‑technical federal users
  • Build applications that centralize program data, support historical records, and enable operational visibility
  • Apply role‑based access controls (RBAC) and security best practices in federal client environments
  • Collaborate closely with DHS/ICE stakeholders and account teams to refine requirements and iterate solutions
  • Support deployment, user onboarding, and iterative enhancements
What You Will Need
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience delivering Power Platform, Power Apps and Power Automate solutions
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Federal or DHS "PUBLIC TRUST"; candidates must obtain approved adjudication of their PUBLIC TRUST prior to onboarding. Candidates with an active PUBLIC TRUST or suitability are preferred.
  • US citizenship is contractually required for this role
  • Bachelor's degree is required
  • Experience supporting workflow‑heavy applications (approvals, routing, tracking)
  • Experience modernizing manual, document‑driven, or email‑based processes
  • Experience working directly with stakeholders in regulated or structured environments
  • Must have current, hands‑on experience in all mandatory subjects:
    • Microsoft Power Platform (core)
    • Power Apps (Canvas and/or Model‑Driven) – building full applications end‑to‑end
    • Power Automate – designing and supporting complex workflows and approval processes
    • Coding language: PowerFX, JSON, & TypeScript
    • Dataverse – data modeling, relationships, and security roles
    • Workflow Engineering (critical)
    • Proven experience designing mission‑critical workflows within Power Platform
    • Strong understanding of workflow dependencies, error handling, and lifecycle tracking
    • Ability to replace manual or ad‑hoc processes with reliable automated solutions
    • UI / UX Design (critical)
    • Must have built polished, user‑friendly Power Apps
    • Must understand layout, usability, navigation, and end‑user experience
    • Must deliver applications that are production‑ready and client‑facing, not prototypes
    • Must document visual designs using iterative agile approaches
    • Must have provided mock‑ups or wireframes
    • Must handle real‑time changes to forms accommodating user requests
    • Must perform product demos with stakeholders
What Would Be Nice to Have
  • Prior DHS, ICE, HSI, or Federal Civilian agency experience
  • Microsoft Power Platform knowledge
  • Microsoft Power Apps using PCF Control a plus
  • Azure knowledge a plus
  • Knowledge of Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) promoting solutions
  • Experience delivering operational or program management tools
  • Experience supporting users in high‑sensitivity or compliance‑driven environments
  • Existing or prior federal clearance (preferred, not required)

The annual salary range for this position is $113,000.00–$188,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
