Job summary
WECTEC Staffing Services is seeking a seasoned Power Plant Operator Technician to join the Operations & Maintenance team at a combined cycle power generation facility. The role requires reporting to the Plant Manager and entails overseeing safe, reliable operation and regulatory compliance at the San Diego site.
The ideal candidate has extensive hands-on experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to safety.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 10+ years of direct power plant operations and maintenance experience.
- Advanced experience in power plant operations, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Operate, monitor, start, and shut down power generation equipment and auxiliary systems.
- Monitor plant performance using control systems, computers, gauges, meters, and other operating equipment.
- Record operational data, plant conditions, and equipment status in logs and reports.
- Adjust operating parameters to maintain safe and efficient plant operations.
- Perform troubleshooting, diagnosis, and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Implement preventive, corrective, and overhaul maintenance activities.
- Support system improvements and plant reliability projects.
