Job summary

LRS Federal is seeking a licensed Electrical PE with 15+ years of DoD and federal facilities experience to lead design, analysis, and QA/QC for complex electrical infrastructure projects. The role focuses on medium-voltage distribution, interior power, lighting, grounding, and emergency power systems.

The candidate will perform critical calculations, mentor junior designers, and interface with DoD and civil agencies during design reviews.

Qualifications

• Active PE license in electrical engineering (or ability to obtain reciprocity).
• 15+ years of DoD/federal infrastructure experience.
• Proven track record performing physical electrical design work (calculations, single-line diagrams, layouts, specs).
• Strong knowledge of UFC, NEC, NFPA, and federal sustainable design mandates.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on electrical design: produce and review design packages for federal facilities.
• Perform and seal critical calculations (short-circuit, coordination, arc flash, voltage drop).
• Lead design-build and bid-build electrical design activities for major projects.
• Provide QA/QC reviews and mentor junior designers on federal projects.
• Interface with DoD components (USACE, NAVFAC) during design reviews.
