Job summary

GTN Technical Staffing is seeking a Power BI Architect (AWS Redshift) to lead design and implementation of enterprise BI solutions. The ideal candidate will own semantic models, dashboards, and data structures, partnering with data engineers and stakeholders to deliver scalable reporting.

This hybrid role in North Dallas requires 7+ years BI experience, strong SQL, Redshift tuning, DAX, and governance. Must be US citizen or Greencard holder; work onsite 3 days a week.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of Business Intelligence and Data Analytics experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on Power BI development and architecture experience.
  • Extensive experience with Amazon Redshift.
  • Advanced SQL development skills.
  • Strong understanding of dimensional data modeling (Star/Snowflake).
  • Experience developing complex DAX measures and calculated columns.
  • Experience with Power Query (M Language).
  • Experience designing semantic models and enterprise datasets.
  • Knowledge of Power BI Service administration and governance.
  • Experience implementing Row-Level Security (RLS).
  • Strong understanding of data warehouse concepts and analytics architecture.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, design, and implement enterprise Power BI solutions using best practices for scalability, security, and performance.
  • Design and develop semantic models, datasets, dataflows, and reusable reporting assets within the Power BI ecosystem.
  • Build executive dashboards, operational reports, and interactive visualizations supporting business decision-making.
  • Design and optimize Amazon Redshift data models for reporting and analytical workloads.
  • Develop complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning strategies within Redshift.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineering teams to define ETL/ELT requirements and ensure data quality across enterprise data platforms.
  • Implement row-level security (RLS), object-level security, governance, and workspace management within Power BI.
  • Optimize report performance through efficient DAX calculations, data modeling, aggregations, and incremental refresh strategies.
  • Establish enterprise BI standards, development methodologies, documentation, and governance practices.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Troubleshoot reporting issues, data discrepancies, and performance bottlenecks.
  • Mentor developers and analysts on Power BI development standards and best practices.
  • Participate in architecture reviews and recommend enhancements to modernize reporting platforms.
  • Support deployment pipelines, source control, and CI/CD processes for Power BI solutions.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Power BI Architect with strong expertise in Amazon Redshift to lead the design, architecture, and implementation of enterprise business intelligence and analytics solutions. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, data visualization, and cloud-based analytics while serving as the technical leader for Power BI initiatives.

This role will partner with business stakeholders, data engineering teams, and application developers to build scalable reporting solutions that transform complex data into meaningful business insights. The successful candidate will have experience optimizing Redshift data models for analytics and developing enterprise-grade Power BI semantic models, dashboards, and reporting frameworks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Architect, design, and implement enterprise Power BI solutions using best practices for scalability, security, and performance.
