Job summary

Arka Innovate seeks a Power BI Developer & Support Specialist to sustain and enhance Power BI solutions for our client. You will focus on data integration, reporting, and stakeholder engagement to deliver reliable insights.

The role requires 2+ years with Power BI, strong SQL/DAX, and experience with EAM systems such as HxGN EAM; onsite five days a week at client location, with certified Power BI skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years with HxGN EAM or equivalent enterprise data management software.
• Minimum 2 years developing and implementing Power BI solutions (data visualization and paginated reports).
• Proficiency in DAX, M, ETL (Power Query), SQL and performance optimization.
• Power BI Certification is mandatory.
• Onsite at client location, five days per week.
• Proven experience in rail-road transportation projects.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and support existing Power BI solutions, ensuring platform availability, reliability, and performance.
• Extract, transform, and load data using SQL under the direction of the Report Development Lead.
• Collaborate with business lines to scope BI solution sessions, capturing business objectives and prioritizing opportunities.
• Create, validate, execute, and document test cases with business leads.
• Assist in the development and delivery of end-user training and reference materials.
• Research and resolve system issues or errors, providing technical assistance to users.

Job description

We are seeking a talentedPower BI Developer & Support Specialistto support our client's Power BI and applications sustainment efforts. This role focuses on the scoping and delivery of BI solutions, maintaining the availability and reliability of Power BI platforms, and providing valuable insights to business lines. The ideal candidate will have experience in data lifecycle management, report development, and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

• BI Sustainment and Support:
• Maintain and support existing Power BI solutions, ensuring platform availability, reliability, and performance.
• Manage contract renewals, system maintenance, and respond to needs as they arise.
• Data Management & Reporting:
• Extract, transform, and load data using SQL, under the direction of the Report Development Lead.
• Create and review data mock-ups and proof-of-concept reports to validate business requirements.
• Develop and manage end-to-end data lifecycle activities, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
• Stakeholder Engagement:
• Collaborate with business lines to scope BI solution sessions, capturing business objectives and prioritizing opportunities.
• Work with business leads to create, validate, execute, and document test cases.
• Training & Implementation Support:
• Assist in the development and delivery of end-user training and reference materials.
• Support end-user training sessions, go-live activities, and post-go-live troubleshooting.
• Problem Resolution:
• Research and resolve system issues or errors, providing technical assistance to users as needed.

Deliverables:

1. EAM Integration:

• Support the integration of EAM systems with Power BI solutions, ensuring seamless data communication.

1. Power BI Configuration:

• Configure Power BI to provide actionable insights for various business lines.

Qualifications:

• Education & Experience:
• Minimum of 2 years of experience with HxGN EAM (or other EAM/enterprise data management software).
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in developing and implementing Power BI solutions, including data visualization and paginated report solutions.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in DAX, M, ETL (Power Query), SQL, and performance optimization.
• Strong understanding of relational databases, data organization, design, and functionality.
• Additional Skills:
• Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously within tight deadlines.
• Experience working in an Agile project delivery model is an asset.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of working with both technical and non-technical teams.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to independently set priorities and manage work in a high-pressure environment.
• Power BI Certification is Mandatory.
• This is an Onsite Opportunity -5 days at client location.
• Proven experience in rail-road transportation projects.
