Job summary

Whittier Trust is seeking a Vice President, Portfolio Manager to oversee client portfolios across equities, fixed income, cash, and alternative assets within approved guidelines. You will participate in department research, present to clients and referral sources, and contribute to firm growth through business development.

The role requires a minimum of 10+ years in portfolio management, strong investment research, and excellent client relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited 4-year university.
• MBA from top-tier business school preferred but not essential.
• CFA designation preferred but not essential.
• 10+ years of Portfolio Management and staff experience overseeing diversified global portfolios of equities, bonds and cash.
• Strong investment research experience.
• Experience with alternative assets a plus.
• Strong communication, client relationship and business development skills and an entrepreneurial spirit.

Responsibilities

• Manage client portfolios consisting of equities, fixed income, cash and alternative assets within investment guidelines.
• Make and implement investment decisions.
• Maintain asset allocations within client guidelines and department policies.
• Analyze macroeconomic, industry and company fundamentals as part of small teams or satellites.
• Lead or assist in internally managed strategies and asset allocation.
• Participate in weekly and monthly investment meetings and communicate with Investment Department colleagues.
• Meet with clients regularly and present to clients, prospects and referral sources.
• Participate in business development initiatives to achieve revenue goals.
