Job Summary

Works with complex High Net Worth Investors to create customized investment strategies. Responsible for understanding strategic investment objectives, spending policy needs and unique client/prospect goals to provide guidance and develop, implement and manage investments. Portfolio Managers can manage customized client portfolios on a fully discretionary basis and provide advisory services and single mandate strategies.

Responsibilities
  • Understands strategic investment objectives, spending policy needs and unique client/prospect goals to provide guidance and develop, implement and manage investments.
  • Manages customized client portfolios on a fully discretionary basis, providing advisory services and single mandate strategies.
  • Manages individual securities (stocks, bonds, REITs, MLPs, etc.), SMAs, alternative investments, and specialty assets (e.g., Timber, Farm, Oil and Gas).
  • Monitors portfolios and rebalances to ensure asset allocation aligns with client objectives and risk tolerances.
  • Oversees the completion of investment policy statements.
  • Acts as a technical/industry expert in managing complex individual and family client relationships.
  • Develops and recommends strategies to achieve clients’ investment goals.
  • Conducts trade execution, maintains investment action plans, monitors overdrafts, and conducts Reg. 9 investment reviews.
  • Documents account activities and client interactions.
  • Supports revenue growth by meeting investment management, credit, and deposit goals.
  • May develop and market specialized asset allocation products and services.
  • Supervises, mentors, and coaches junior staff.
Required Qualifications
  • 10‑15 years of investment decision‑making and financial consulting experience working with high net worth and ultra‑high net worth clients.
  • Held positions of increasing responsibility with an established and prestigious financial services firm, most likely in wealth management, private banking and/or trust.
  • Knowledge of fiduciary and financial products and services gained through extensive related work experience.
  • Broad technical knowledge of investments, tax, legal and operations necessary to serve clients.
  • Knowledge of fiduciary standards, principles and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Skills in negotiating, delegating, leadership, superior client service and relationship management.
Desired Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or equivalent.
  • Appropriate credentials such as CPA, CFP and/or CFA designation.
  • Graduate degree such as MBA or JD preferred.
