Job summary

UCLA Sleep Lab is seeking a sleep technologist to perform and evaluate overnight PSGs and MSLTs, ensuring patient safety and accurate scoring of studies. You will calibrate equipment, attach sensors, and monitor patients throughout the sleep period, with responsibilities expanding to infant/pediatric recordings as needed.

The role involves decision-making for Bi/CPAP titration, lab coordination, and possible daytime studies, across UCLA lab locations to meet center needs.

Qualifications

• Certification in polysomnography preferred.
• Experience with overnight PSG and MSLT.
• Ability to operate lab equipment safely.

Responsibilities

• Perform and evaluate overnight polysomnograms (PSG) and MSLTs.
• Calibrate equipment and attach sensors to patients.
• Monitor patients during sleep and ensure safety.

Description

The sleep technologist is to perform and evaluate routine and specialized overnight polysomnograms (PSGs), Multiple Sleep Latency Tests (MSLTs), and to ensure patient safety. Major duties include calibrating equipment, attaching sensors to patients, performing bio-calibration, monitoring laboratory equipment, and observing the patients while they sleep. Make decisions to initiate Bi/CPAP titration or other treatment should patient meet lab criteria. Score polysomnographic recordings on request. Occasionally work days to perform MSLTs, infant and pediatric recordings, scoring of records, daytime studies, and other functions as requested by the lab manager. Responsible to work at all UCLA Sleep Lab locations as needed for Laboratory operations.

Salary Range: $58.62-58.62/hr

This role supports both our Westwood and North Hollywood locations.
