Job summary

The Brookings Institution in Washington, DC, invites applications for a Senior Research Assistant within The Hamilton Project. You will contribute to developing and executing a policy agenda, performing original analyses, and co-authoring research on economics and policy topics.

You will analyze data with tools like Stata and R, create charts and dashboards, and support senior directors with research coordination and publication production in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics or a related field required.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• One year of relevant economics or policy research work experience required.
• Competence to undertake research assignments with right-sized supervision required.

Responsibilities

• Research and Policy Development: Discuss and review policy areas and ideas for research, development, and commissions.
• Research and policy activity: stay abreast of recent writing and policy activity.
• Independently analyze data in Excel, STATA, R or similar software and present findings visually and in writing.
• Create and/or maintain charts, figures, and data interactives to illustrate research findings.
