Job summary

United Future in Virginia Beach is seeking a Project Manager for heavy civil highway and utility projects across Virginia. You’ll own project cost, schedule and profitability from buyout through closeout, and coordinate with field teams on roadway and VDOT work.

Candidates with VDOT or DOT experience, a BS in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, and strong cost control and scheduling skills are encouraged to relocate with relocation assistance.

Qualifications

• 7+ years on heavy civil, highway or utility projects, with recent time as a PM or senior APM.
• VDOT or other DOT project experience strongly preferred.
• Proven cost, schedule and change order management.
• BS in Civil Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent field experience.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Own project cost, schedule and profit from buyout through closeout.
• Build and manage the project schedule with the field team.
• Manage subcontractors, suppliers and purchase orders.
• Run monthly pay applications, cost reports and forecasts.
• Handle change orders and owner negotiations.
• Be the main contact for VDOT and owner representatives.
• Lead weekly project meetings and cost reviews.
• Work closely with the superintendent on production and safety.
• Mentor APMs and project engineers on your team.
