Job summary

Salas O’Brien is seeking a Senior Plumbing/Fire Suppression Engineer in Philadelphia, PA to design and document plumbing and fire suppression systems for healthcare, life sciences, academia, industry, and corporate projects.

The role includes mentoring junior staff, ensuring code compliance, and coordination with other disciplines while delivering high-quality design and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (preferred).
• A minimum of 15 years of design experience
• Professional Engineer (PE) license (preferred)
• Certified in Plumbing Design (CPD) accreditation (preferred)
• ASSE 6060 Medical Gas design accreditation (preferred)
• Experience with Healthcare and Life Sciences projects (preferred)
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and MS Office
• Familiarity with plumbing codes, NFPA standards, and healthcare design guidelines
• Strong work ethic, excellent written and oral communication, and time-management skills
• Interpersonal and organizational skills, and ability to balance personal and professional life
