Job summary

Mary Kay Inc. is seeking an experienced electrical controls technician to program and maintain PLC-based packaging and processing equipment. You will validate designs, install modifications, and troubleshoot electrical, electronic, and pneumatic systems to optimize performance.

The role requires a journeyman's license, 5 years in manufacturing, and on-site work at a Mary Kay facility. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with benefits starting on day one.

Qualifications

  • Must have proven experience in PLC logic and programming with the listed PLCs.
  • Must be able to create and read logic/flow diagrams for design, programming and testing.
  • Must have journeyman’s license and related electrical competencies.
  • Must be experienced in safety regulations for Mary Kay and local/national standards.
  • Must be able to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods.

Responsibilities

Job description

Job Summary

Programs automation and controls systems involving PLCs (programmable logic controllers). Performs installation of control and power systems for cosmetic packaging and processing equipment. Identifies, fabricates and installs modifications to existing equipment and performs specific maintenance functions in troubleshooting and repair of cosmetic packaging and processing equipment.

About the Role
Responsibilities
  • Validates the design and specifications of electrical/electronic systems for packaging and processing equipment. Participates in the final development of packaging and processing equipment and assists in the development of specifications for new equipment. Recommends revisions to existing specifications and procedures and assists in the development of specifications for new equipment.
  • Fabricates, installs, debugs and maintains new electrical/electronic systems for packaging and processing equipment to improve performance or accommodate new product. Troubleshoots electrical, electronic, and pneumatic systems; makes repairs or adjusts equipment as needed.
  • Program PLC’s, AC/DC drives and Servo Drives. Modify robot, PLC programs, and human machine screen interfaces (HMI’s) as required. Troubleshoot equipment consisting of controllers, robotics and programmable logic controllers. Assists in organizing and coordinating installation of new electronic systems.
  • Performs maintenance on precision measuring and gauging instruments and electronic test equipment used by the Electric Shop.
  • This job requires on-site work at a Mary Kay facility.
Contract & Schedule

Full-time employment

Work Hours – 8 hrs/day – Monday-Friday (40 hrs/week)

Work schedule – 8:00 PM – 4:30 PM

Additional Skills & Abilities
  • Must have proven experience in PLC logic and programming with the following PLCs: Allen Bradley, GE Fanuc, Siemens, Automation Direct, Mitsubishi, Omron, ELAU, etc.
  • Must be able to create and read logic and flow diagrams for program design, programming, simulation and testing, and start-up. Experience with logic auto-generation from templates is a plus.
  • Must have technical knowledge and electrical skills that are congruent with the requirement of the incumbent having a journeyman’s license. In addition, the incumbent will have demonstrated competencies established for this job as specified in the electrical competency model.
  • Must be experienced in the safety regulations of both Mary Kay Inc. and all local and national safety requirements.
  • Must be able to stand, sit and/or walk for extended periods of time.
  • Shift or schedule change may be necessary due to changing business needs.
Working Conditions
  • This job requires frequent exposure to odors, noise, dust, vibrations, fumes, gases, heat, cold, chemicals and weather conditions.
  • Incumbent is subject to other hazards such as, electrical shock, moving mechanical parts, chemicals, temperature extremes, and high places.
  • Incumbent may be on call and possibly called to work at night or on weekends. Occasional overtime and weekend work may be required.
