Job summary

Snowflake is seeking a Principal Engineer for Streamlit in Snowflake to shape the SiS platform. You will own architectural vision across container runtimes, embedding SDKs, and developer tooling, guiding performance at scale and enterprise reliability.

You will mentor senior engineers, drive cross-team programs with infra, Snowsight, Cortex/AI, security, and open-source collaborators, and partner with product and design to translate customer needs into robust solutions.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong expertise in Python runtimes, server-side frameworks, and distributed execution environments.
• Experience with container-based execution environments (Docker/Kubernetes) and performance tradeoffs.
• Hands-on design of developer-facing SDKs and embedding APIs.
• Proven ability to lead cross-team technical programs and influence without formal authority.
• Experience with enterprise SaaS reliability: multi-tenancy, security reviews, migrations.
• Familiarity with the open-source Streamlit framework or similar Python-based app frameworks is a plus.
• Experience with IdP integrations or authentication systems for embedded/public apps is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the architectural vision for the SiS platform across runtime, embedding SDKs, developer tooling, and integration layers.
• Drive evolution toward next-generation capabilities and architectural direction for areas in development.
• Represent SiS in company-wide architecture forums and shape Snowflake's app platform strategy.
• Establish engineering standards for performance, reliability, and scale with high availability.
• Lead design and review for cross-functional initiatives with infra, Snowsight, Cortex/AI, security, and OSS projects.
• Contribute hands-on by authoring specs, implementing changes, reviewing PRs, and ensuring API quality.
• Mentor senior engineers and grow technical leaders, promoting high standards and knowledge sharing.
• Partner with Product and Design to translate customer needs into robust engineering solutions.
• Balance developer experience with scalability needs for enterprise customers embedding Streamlit.
