Sauna By Wordware in San Francisco is seeking a senior backend engineer to build the execution engine behind agent sessions. You will implement how work starts, carries session state through tool calls, and resumes after interruptions, owning the production code from day one.

This role emphasizes deciding when work should be an actor or a job, designing long-running processes across releases, and making runtime failures traceable.

Formación

• Built and operated stateful backend systems in production.
• Explain decisions between actor vs. background job and what shipped.
• Debug concurrency, retries, or recovery in owned code.
• Proficient in TypeScript and growing code scope.

Responsabilidades

• Build and improve the runtime that starts agent work, carries session state through tool calls, and resumes interrupted runs.
• Choose between actors and jobs for different kinds of work; assess overlap in sessions.
• Design long-running processes that drain or resume during code changes across releases.
• Handle retries and timeouts around tool calls with partial success cases.
• Make runtime failures traceable and ensure production ownership of fixes.
