Job summary

Pinwheel's Integrations Platform team builds scalable services, proxies, and tooling enabling 1800+ integrations. We seek a Senior Platform Engineer to own platform-level problem spaces end-to-end and raise the technical bar across the team.

You'll identify recurring issues, design systems to eliminate them, and lead junior and mid-level engineers as you implement robust runtime primitives. The role is hybrid with NYC office 3 days a week, and offers competitive salary, equity, and benefits.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience.
• Computer Science degree or comparable experience.
• Experience designing/operating services with concurrency and scale.
• Experience with backend platform/infrastructure: services, queues, data pipelines, async processing.
• Strong systems design with defendable tradeoffs.
• Autonomous project leadership on multi-quarter initiatives.
• AI-forward thinking and readiness to drive AI projects.

Responsibilities

• Own platform initiatives end-to-end: scope, design, build, ship, maintain.
• Drive systems design for new integration infrastructure: services, queues, data pipelines, async processing.
• Lead projects with junior and mid-level engineers; improve productivity via code reviews and design feedback.
• Identify and eliminate classes of problems rather than patching one-off bugs.
• Set technical direction in ambiguous problem spaces.
• Collaborate with IE and adjacent teams to meet consumer needs.
