Job summary

PointClickCare’s Platform Engineering team builds software for developers, delivering internal APIs, services, and developer tooling. The role involves writing production-grade code, owning services end-to-end, and shaping CI/CD workflows in a hybrid work setting.

You’ll work with Kubernetes, IaC, and cloud-native environments to improve reliability, security, and developer experience while collaborating across senior engineering peers. This is a hybrid role with in-office collaboration.

Qualifications

• Expert-level proficiency in TypeScript/Node.js building production-grade APIs, services, developer tools, and developer-facing UIs with strong automated testing.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals - distributed systems, API design, and production backend services.
• Working proficiency with observability, metrics, logging, and incident response.
• Strong Kubernetes proficiency with building abstractions and operators.
• Proficient in designing/building CI/CD pipelines focused on security and developer experience.
• OK with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Pulumi) and cloud-native environments.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills to drive adoption of platform patterns.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain platform services, APIs, SDKs, and internal tools used across engineering teams.
• Own platform services end-to-end from design through production operation and improvement.
• Design and improve CI/CD workflows and developer automation for usability and efficiency.
• Apply distributed systems principles to create scalable, resilient services and APIs.
• Production ownership of services including observability, debugging, and incident response.
