Job summary

Lila Sciences in San Francisco seeks a Senior Software Engineer II, Developer Platform to own critical systems spanning the enterprise lifecycle and the developer ecosystem. You’ll shape multi-tenancy, auth, and public APIs while building SDKs and integrations for customers and developers.

This high-autonomy role emphasizes shipping code, technical judgment, and collaboration across infra, data, apps, and science teams to deliver scalable, secure platform services.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of backend software engineering experience
• Experience with APIs, multi-tenancy, auth, or backend systems at scale
• Strong in Python (FastAPI), Kubernetes, AWS, databases
• Focus on developer experience and backward compatibility
• Ship working code regularly and troubleshoot production issues
• Collaborate across infra, data, apps, and science teams

Responsibilities

• Own multi-tenancy, authentication, authorization, and audit across platforms.
• Develop tenant provisioning, self-serve admin, and onboarding lifecycle; support billing/meters.
• Own and evolve public APIs, ship SDKs, and define interfaces for agents.
• Build integration paths for MCPs, agents, and data within a tenant.
