Job summary

DraftKings is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to build and enhance tools, systems, and infrastructure enabling engineers to develop and deploy software reliably at scale using C#/.NET Core, Kubernetes, GitOps, and cloud technologies.

You will design and maintain platform capabilities, automate deployments with Helm, improve observability, and mentor other engineers while collaborating with teams to deliver scalable, resilient solutions.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional software development experience, ideally with experience in C# and .NET Core.
• Experience building and supporting distributed systems and microservice architectures.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, containerization, and modern deployment practices.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with a solid grasp of the SDLC.

As a Senior Platform Engineer, you'll build and enhance the tools, systems, and infrastructure that enable engineering teams across DraftKings to develop and deploy software reliably at scale. Using C#/.NET, Kubernetes, GitOps, and cloud technologies, you'll solve complex infrastructure challenges, improve developer workflows, and create scalable, automated platform solutions that support our growing products.

What You'll Do

What You'll Bring

• 4+ years of professional software development experience, ideally with experience in C# and .NET Core.
• Experience building and supporting distributed systems and microservice architectures.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, containerization, and modern application deployment practices.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and an understanding of the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve issues across complex distributed environments.
• Understanding of modern deployment strategies, including canary and blue-green deployments.
• Familiarity with GitOps methodologies and infrastructure and application deployment automation.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.
• Familiarity with observability platforms such as Datadog and the ELK Stack.
• Experience with end-to-end performance testing at scale is a plus.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

The US base salary range for this full-time position is 119,500.00 USD - 149,400.00 USD, plus bonus, equity, and benefits as applicable. Our ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The compensation information displayed on each job posting reflects the range for new hire pay rates for the position across all US locations.
