Job summary

gFiber is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to design and manage scalable applications on Google Cloud Platform, using Terraform and IaC to standardize deployments and accelerate automation.

You will partner with cross-functional teams to speed software delivery, lead on-call rotations, and help improve reliability across enterprise apps like Netcracker, Alepo, and Axiros.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 5 years in public cloud environments (Kubernetes, VPC, Cloud Run).
• 5 years of SDLC, CI/CD pipeline implementation.
• 5 years Linux internals, containers, and security guardrails.
• 2 years coding in Python or Java.
• Experience with monitoring/logging ecosystems (Prometheus, Datadog, Dynatrace, ELK).

Role Description

We are seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to manage multiple critical enterprise applications, including but not limited to Netcracker, Alepo, and Axiros, on GCP. In this high-impact role, you will support cross-functional engineering teams by streamlining their deployment processes and providing a unified, reliable platform. You will be responsible for designing automated deployment pipelines, building upgrade scripts, and enhancing our GCP cloud infrastructure to ensure scalability. The ideal candidate possesses deep expertise in GCP, Terraform, Linux administration, and CI/CD methodologies, and thrives in a collaborative environment driving infrastructure-as-code standards.

• Architect and maintain scalable, reliable systems and applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Drive Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) standards by developing and maintaining configurations with Terraform.
• Design and implement end-to-end CI/CD pipelines to accelerate software delivery and automation.
• Lead incident management, conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and participate in on-call rotations to ensure high service availability.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize system performance and prioritize resource rightsizing.
• Build and maintain internal developer platforms and tools that enhance engineering productivity.

At a minimum, we’d like you to have:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of direct experience in public cloud environments, including Kubernetes, VPC, and Cloud Run and expertise in infrastructure management and automation using Terraform , Ansible and SaltStack.
• 5 years of experience leading SDLC, CI/CD pipeline implementation, and supporting enterprise applications.
• 5 years of experience with Linux system internals, containerization, building autonomous task workflows and establishing security guardrails.
• 2 years of experience coding in programming languages such as Python or Java.
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging ecosystems (e.g., GCP Monitoring, Prometheus, Datadog, Dynatrace, ELK) and diagnosing complex system-level issues.

It’s preferred if you have:

• Proven experience architecting and deploying solutions using AI/LLM stacks (Gemini, Vertex AI, ADK).
• 5 years of direct experience in GCP and managing multi-cloud environments
• Experience in application performance optimization for both stand-alone and distributed systems.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and cross-team collaboration skills.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $122,500 - $198,500 + bonus + benefits. As pay varies by location, your recruiter will share more about the specific salary range for your targeted location during the hiring process.
