Description

We are looking for a Senior Platform Engineer with strong Python skills to build and scale the internal platforms, tools, and automation that help engineering teams deliver software safely and efficiently. This role sits at the intersection of platform engineering, developer experience, CI/CD, and agentic AI workflow automation.

You will set technical direction and work hands-on to create reliable, secure, and usable solutions across cloud and on-prem environments. You will partner with engineering, security, and infrastructure teams to reduce toil, improve delivery, and make complex workflows easier to operate.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Architect, build, and operate developer-facing tools and self-service workflows, including CLIs, configuration generators, APIs, and automation.

  • Design and evolve reusable CI/CD frameworks and workflows across GitHub Actions and related platforms, enabling consistent delivery across teams.

  • Build reliable Python integrations with source control, issue tracking, artifact repositories, release systems, and infrastructure services.

  • Design, build, and operate agentic AI workflows that connect approved models to internal knowledge and tools to improve support, incident investigation, and software delivery.

  • Ground AI-generated results in approved sources and evaluate workflow quality, reliability, and failure modes.

  • Apply safeguards to AI and automation workflows, including least-privilege access, secret protection, audit trails, and human approval before consequential actions.

  • Build security automation into developer workflows, including vulnerability scanning and policy enforcement.

  • Improve platform reliability and operability with testing, structured logs, metrics, tracing, retries, idempotency, dry-run modes, and clear recovery or rollback paths.

  • Support hybrid cloud and on-prem infrastructure, including CI runners, container platforms, AWS resources, and Terraform-managed infrastructure.

  • Set platform engineering standards, guide architecture across teams, mentor engineers, and communicate decisions through clear documentation.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required :

  • 5+ years of software or platform engineering experience, including strong Python skills and experience building production developer tools or services.

  • Proven experience designing and operating CI/CD pipelines or reusable workflow platforms at scale.

  • Experience integrating systems through APIs and building automation that is testable, observable, and resilient to failures.

  • Experience with AI- or LLM-based workflow automation or agentic systems, such as tool use, retrieval, or multi-step orchestration.

  • Strong understanding of security best practices, including least privilege, secrets management, and auditable automation.

  • Experience improving developer experience and working across teams to deliver broadly adopted platform capabilities.

  • Strong communication and technical leadership skills, including the ability to mentor engineers and influence architecture beyond one team.

Preferred:

  • Hands-on experience with n8n, MCP (Model Context Protocol), or similar workflow orchestration and tool-integration technologies.

  • Experience building AI workflows with grounded retrieval, evaluations, observability, human-in-the-loop controls, or other production safeguards.

  • Experience with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or other CI/CD platforms.

  • Experience with hybrid cloud and on-prem environments, Kubernetes, self-hosted runners, or GitOps.

  • AWS and Terraform; the engineer should be comfortable working with existing AWS resources and Terraform configurations.

  • Familiarity with observability platforms such as Grafana, Prometheus, or Datadog.

  • Experience with additional languages such as Go or C/C++.

Compensation & Benefits

  • An employee’s pay position within the salary range may be based on several factors including but not limited to (1) relevant education; qualifications; certifications; and experience; (2) skills, ability, knowledge of the job; (3) performance, contribution and results; (4) geographic location; (5) shift; (6) internal and external equity; and (7) business and organizational needs.
