Job summary

ServiceNow, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Core Cryptography, to design and build secure cryptographic services for a large-scale, multi-tenant SaaS platform.

You will apply a security-first mindset, work on key management and PKI, and leverage ML/AI techniques to strengthen detection of misuse while collaborating with staff+ engineers. You will operate services on Kubernetes, contribute to secure-by-default coding, and stay current on cryptographic advancements, including

Qualifications

• 4+ years professional software engineering experience with production-scale Java/Go or OO languages.
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
• Experience with distributed systems, concurrency, and multi-tenant SaaS architectures.
• Hands-on Kubernetes experience in SaaS environments.
• Proficient in cryptographic primitives and security-focused coding practices.
• Familiarity with PKI, TLS, and security compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain secure cryptographic services (key management, PKI, secrets).
• Build crypto services within a core ecosystem with reliability and security as priorities.
• Apply ML/statistical techniques to detect misuse and anomalies.
• Develop inference/detection pipelines for real-time indicators of cryptographic misuse.
• Collaborate with product and security teams to translate requirements into code.
• Operate services on Kubernetes in a multi-tenant SaaS environment; manage CI/CD, on-call, incidents.
• Write secure code by default; perform threat modelling and secure code reviews.
• Stay updated on cryptographic advancements including post-quantum readiness.
