A leading manufacturing company in Delaware is seeking a Plastic Product Development Engineer. This role involves being an integral part of product design, material selection, and mold/tool design. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and over 7 years of experience in plastic injection molded part development. Responsibilities include supporting manufacturing processes, liaising with suppliers, and leading design transfer activities to ensure successful product management into volume production.
Qualifications
7+ years of hands-on experience in plastic injection molded part development and design.
Strong understanding of plastic materials.
Experience in a fast-paced, sales driven, manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
Be an integral part of the Product Engineering team.
Review/assess/approve mold performance and flow analysis.
Liaison between tool shop, supplier, and Product Development.
Develop cost for plastic and materials/products to ensure profitability.
Support all aspects of the manufacturing environment.
Provide leadership during tool and process development.
Work with global plastic injection molders and tooling suppliers.
Help drive Design Transfer activities from development to production.
Identify capacity opportunities with Supply Chain managers.
