Placements24 is assisting a leading agricultural research institute in East London, Eastern Cape, to hire a Senior Plant Physiologist. You will design and conduct advanced research on plant physiology, molecular biology, and responses to environmental stresses to improve crop yield and resilience.

You will lead research projects, mentor junior researchers, and publish findings from field trials and cutting-edge lab work.

Qualificações

• PhD in Plant Physiology, Molecular Biology, Plant Science, or related field
• Minimum of 6 years of post-doctoral research in plant physiology
• Experience studying plant responses to environmental stresses
• Proficiency in molecular biology techniques and biochemical assays
• Strong analytical and statistical skills with data analysis software
• Excellent written and verbal communication with publications in reputable journals
• Experience designing and conducting field and laboratory experiments

About the Role

Our client, a leading agricultural research institute, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Plant Physiologist to join their team in East London, Eastern Cape. This critical role involves conducting advanced research into plant growth, development, and response to environmental factors. You will investigate key physiological processes that influence crop yield, quality, and stress tolerance, contributing to the development of improved crop varieties and farming techniques. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in plant physiology, molecular biology, and experimental design. You will work in state-of-the-art laboratory facilities and conduct field trials to validate research findings. Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute research experiments to investigate plant physiological processes under various environmental conditions.

Requirements
