Job summary

NatureSpace Partnership is seeking an experienced planning professional to support colleagues with knowledge and guidance on the UK planning system, combining policy expertise with planning reforms into daily tasks and longer projects.

The postholder will lead within the Core Support team, line-manage two planning specialists, and collaborate across the company to ensure accurate planning advice and effective delivery, while working remotely when needed.

Qualifications

• Qualified to at least degree standard in planning/environmental planning.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills.
• Good understanding of the English planning system (local, regional, national).
• Strong IT skills with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Effective communicator with strong written and verbal skills.
• Ability to work remotely with self-management.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate planning team to provide planning support across all teams on strategic planning and development management.
• Interpret and communicate strategic planning policy and reforms across the company.
• Lead internal planning training, including organising sessions and designing presentations.
• Review external communications for accuracy in planning knowledge.
• Provide planning support in internal and external meetings with stakeholders.
• Supervise planning knowledge and data for licence applications requiring planning input.
• Provide planning knowledge for new workstreams and innovations.
• Maintain up-to-date records and support data quality assurance.
• Coordinate dissemination of planning news and guidance to the wider team.
• Handle varied work including administration, communications, and progress monitoring.
