Lumen is seeking a Senior Planning Engineer to support planning and execution for Custom Network migration programs, coordinating across Planning, Engineering, Construction, Implementation, Operations, vendors and customer-facing teams. The role emphasizes risk management, dependency tracking, and schedule coordination to meet customer commitments while balancing business priorities.

This is a fully remote role based in the United States with a standard Mon–Fri schedule and occasional overnight

Qualificações

The Role
Senior Planning Engineer – Custom Network Migration Programs

The Senior Planning Engineer supports planning and execution activities for Lumen's Custom Network migration programs, including various projects, and future initiatives. This role works across multiple organizations to develop migration plans, manage dependencies, identify risks, and support customer commitments while balancing operational and business priorities.

Location and Schedule

The position is a fully remote role available from anywhere in the US, with a typical Monday-through-Friday, 8:00-to-5:00 schedule.

The Main Responsibilities
Migration Planning & Execution
  • Develop and maintain migration plans, schedules, and roadmaps.

  • Support route prioritization and execution activities.

  • Identify dependencies, constraints, and readiness requirements.

  • Coordinate activities supporting network migration delivery.

Cross-Functional Coordination
  • Partner with Planning, Engineering, Construction, Implementation, Operations, vendors, and customer-facing teams.

  • Facilitate issue resolution and stakeholder alignment.

  • Participate in program reviews and governance activities.

Risk & Issue Management
  • Identify, track, and mitigate risks to migration schedules and customer commitments.

  • Support resolution of planning, implementation, capacity, and operational issues.

  • Escalate critical concerns and recommend corrective actions.

Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Communicate migration plans, schedules, risks, and requirements.

  • Support customer meetings, planning reviews, and issue resolution efforts.

  • Support occasional overnight customer migrations.

  • Build strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.

Reporting & Program Support
  • Maintain migration trackers, metrics, and status reporting.

  • Provide schedule forecasts, risk assessments, and program updates.

  • Support executive reporting and continuous process improvement initiatives.

What We Look For in a Candidate
  • Experience supporting telecommunications, network migration, infrastructure, or transformation programs.

  • Knowledge of network planning, implementation, and operations.

  • Experience coordinating cross-functional projects and stakeholders.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in complex environments.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Custom Networks Transport and Dark Fiber migration programs.

  • Experience supporting large-scale customer migration initiatives.

Compensation

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

Location Based Pay Ranges

$84,629 - $112,838 in these states: AL AR AZ FL GA IA ID IN KS KY LA ME MO MS MT ND NE NM OH OK PA SC SD TN UT VT WI WV WY

$88,860 - $118,480 in these states: CO HI MI MN NC NH NV OR RI

$93,092 - $124,122 in these states: AK CA CT DC DE IL MA MD NJ NY TX VA WA
