Job summary

City of Fairfield in Fairfield, California, seeks a Planning Division Manager to lead the Planning Division during a period of growth and major development activity. You will guide private development, implement land use policies, and mentor planning staff with a strong technical background.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in planning or related field, with a Master’s preferred and seven+ years in urban planning including supervisory experience. AICP is desirable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in planning, landscape architecture, public administration, or closely related field required.
• Master's degree in planning or related field highly desired.
• AICP Certification or similar is desirable but not required.
• Seven or more years of professional urban planning experience, including minimum of three years in supervisory/management roles.

Responsibilities

• Advance long-range planning efforts and implement city regulations and plans.
