Job summary

Columbia Sportswear is seeking a Senior Planning Capabilities Analyst focused on Global Planning and Fulfillment. You will own the fulfillment planning process, drive seasonal improvements, and lead analytics to enable planning across brands and regions.

This hybrid role is based near Portland, Oregon with four days onsite per week, subject to business needs. Strong leadership, SME engagement, and data-driven decision making are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in planning fields.
• 5–8 years of professional experience in planning or analytics.
• 5+ years using decision support tools and processes in a planning context.
• Ability to relate planning applications and data to business needs.
• Experience with omni-channel planning in retail.

Responsibilities

• Owns Global Planning processes for Fulfillment planning, aligning demand, supply, inventory and fulfillment.
• Engage business SMEs to define requirements and support solutions for planning priorities.
• Lead cross-brand and cross-region fulfillment initiatives and drive KPI improvements.
• Define business use cases, user stories, and backlog requirements for planning tools.
• Champion priorities through program deliverables and timelines.
• Serve as global functional lead for fulfillment planning and omni-channel needs.
• Coordinate super user communities for process, capabilities and analytics updates.
• Support validation of enhancements to processes, tools and reporting.
• Drive ongoing education on planning applications and analytics.

Job description

This position is designated as a hybrid role based out of our headquarters near Portland, Oregon. The current expectation is for employees to work onsite four days per week, subject to change based on business needs. This in-office requirement may be adjusted at the discretion of the company.

As the Senior Planning Capabilities Analyst focused on our Global Planning end-to-end business process and capabilities, you are the functional area leader for Fulfillment. This position will be focused leading and driving seasonal process and continuous improvement efforts associated to Fulfillment planning across the different brands, regions and channels. You are the business process owner and the global go-to person regarding the fulfillment process, capabilities, and relevant key performance indicators. In addition to process and capabilities, you have a working knowledge of associated analytics to inform and enable the related business processes.

HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

• Owns the Global Planning business process associated to Fulfillment planning, leveraging deep knowledge of demand planning, supply planning, inventory management, and fulfillment planning processes to drive planning application and analytical capabilities
• Act as functional SME as well as engage business SMEs to define requirements, support of solutions and deliver against defined Supply Chain and Enterprise priorities
• Strong leadership and ability to drive towards Global Planning capabilities and desired outcomes
• Anticipate and communicate issues and key decisions to program sponsors and stakeholders Defines business use cases, user stories, and/or business requirement while ensuring clarity within the backlog
• Champion business priorities and requirements through program deliverables as necessary
• You will work as the functional global lead for fulfillment planning to determine omni-channel needs priorities in support of Global Planning Leadership
• Anticipate and communicate issues and key decisions to Global Planning Leadership and/or program leadership
• Matrix leader of a super user community driving and facilitating process, capability, and analytics updates and enhancements associated with fulfillment planning
• Support and coordination of other users validating enhancements for business process, planning tool and associated analytical capabilities
• Drives and facilitates continuing education of current business process and associated enhancements to planning applications and/or related reporting that informs the process
• Performs other duties as assigned

YOU HAVE

• Bachelor's degree, applicable certification or equivalent experience in Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Merchandise Planning, or Inventory Planning with responsibility for planning decisions and business outcomes.
• Requires 5-8 years of professional experience and mastery of relevant function/process experience business skills
• 5+ years of experience with decision support tools and processes in a business process/analyst capacity
• Ability to relate planning application and associated data to business process need
• Business Process Analyst experience defining business process and leveraging analytics to inform decision making
• Business acumen across product creation, manufacturing, supply chain (demand and supply planning), finance and retail desired
• Work experience reflects a progression of increasing responsibility.
• Omni-channel experience and Retail industry knowledge is desired
• Experience with JDA or Blue Yonder planning system preferred
