Job summary

Babylist is hiring a Senior Planner to run the day-to-day execution of merchandise planning for our growing e-commerce business. You'll own Open-to-Buy and inventory planning for your departments, making sure the right products are available at the right time to hit customer demand and business targets.

This is a highly tactical, execution-focused role: you'll spend most of your time working directly in our planning systems, managing forecasts, inventory flow, and vendor projections, while

Qualifications

• Owned Open-to-Buy at department or category level.
• Proficient in retail math, forecasting, and inventory planning concepts.
• Excel power user.
• Understand vendor dynamics; own vendor forecasts and projections.
• 6-8 years of experience in inventory or merchandise planning.
• Spend ~80% of time in planning systems, maintaining forecasts and inventory positions.
• Strong communicator; partners with Merchandising and Supply Chain.
• Adaptable, organized, proactive; pivot as business changes.
• Thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with AI daily usage.

Responsibilities

• Own Open-to-Buy for departments, managing sales, inventory, margin, and turn targets.
• Maintain and update forecasts in the planning system.
• Execute replenishment and order writing for categories.
• Partner with Merchandising on day-to-day decisions.
• Own vendor forecasting and lead planning meetings with vendors.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain on inbound timing and inventory flow.
• Monitor weekly sales and inventory performance; flag risks and opportunities.
• Support pre-season planning with bottom-up forecasts.
• Prioritize top-volume SKUs to maximize revenue and in-stock performance.
• Use data and AI-enabled tools to improve forecast accuracy and reduce manual work.
• Identify opportunities for process or workflow improvements.
