Job summary

Larry H. Miller Real Estate (LHMRE) in Utah seeks a Land Planning Manager to implement placemaking and neighborhood design through master-planned communities.

You will coordinate with architects, engineers, and planners to integrate zoning, transportation, and site characteristics into cohesive plans. The role emphasizes design reviews, entitlements support, and collaboration with development partners to elevate placemaking outcomes across projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in planning, urban design, or landscape architecture, or a related field plus five years of related experience.
  • Thorough understanding of urban design principles, particularly as they relate to neighborhood-scale development: the lot, the block, and the street.
  • Strong visual and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on 3D models and rendering.
  • Software knowledge: AutoCAD, Sketch-Up, Rhino, Twin Motion, Adobe suite, and/or other visualization tools, Microsoft Suite, GIS a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare land use plans for master-planned communities of various scales, integrating local land use code, transportation, engineering, and placemaking goals.
  • Prepare design standards and guidelines such as community plans and pattern books.
  • Coordinate platting of land use plans with engineering teams to ensure placemaking outcomes.
  • Define special addresses within land use plans and coordinate with Placemaking Team.
  • Create graphics for analysis and presentations, including community and neighborhood designs.
