Kent is seeking a Piping Designer to support a client site in Gregory, TX. The role involves preparing and modifying piping designs, BOMs, 3D models, and associated drawings, with responsibility for timely delivery and compliance with safety and industry codes.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in piping design, experience in oil, gas, or refinery sectors, and show strong CAD skills and field experience for site surveys and drawings finalization.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of piping design experience, preferably in Oil and Gas, Petrochemical, or Refinery industries.
• Prepare design deliverables including BOM, panel and cable schedules, 3D models, and interconnections.
• Input for drafting area classification drawings and other layouts.
• Follow CAD standards and prepare layout drawings and installation drawings.
• Prepare calculations for cable tray and trench sizing.
• Contribute to substation layout optimization with lead designer.

About the job:

Kent is looking for a Piping Designer to be based within a client’s facility located in Gregory TX.

You will prepare or modify designs for piping projects, or arranging for, or instructing, others to do this. Designs include drawings, design details, specifications, bills of quantity and design calculations .

Skills and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

• Manage the design processes involved in a piping project, including ensuring that drawings are ready on time, reviewing designs and making them available to the appropriate people.
• Liaise with client on design-related matters.
• Establish and maintain effective methods of communication between the teams involved in design work throughout the project.
• Maintain records and documents throughout the project.
• Assess, mitigate and manage risks connected with design.
• Ensure designs and design work meet health and safety legislation, sustainable building standards (such as BREEAM the Building Research Establishment’s Environmental Assessment Method) and industry codes of practice.
• As-building in the field which may require climbing ladders or stairs.
• Closing MOC’s.
• Minimum 5+ years of piping design experience, preferably in the Oil and Gas, Petro Chemical, Refinery industry required.
• Preparation of all design related deliverables such as BOM, Panel and Cable schedule, 3D models and model extractions, layouts and interconnection wiring drawings etc.
• Input for drafting Area classification drawings and other layouts.
• Follow CAD standards.
• Preparation of calculations for Cable tray and trench sizing.
• Decide the substation layouts optimizing the size and design of the same along with the lead designer.
• Preparation of all layout drawings ,3D models and MTO generation.
• Finalize installation drawings for each specific project.
• Participate in project design reviews as required.

• Attend model reviews as per project schedule as required.
• Site surveys and adequacy checks if required.
• Perform technical audits and quality reviews.
