Job summary

Strategy Engineering & Consulting, LLC is seeking a Senior Electrical & Instrumentation Designer – Lead to drive hands-on E&I design across offshore and onshore oil and gas projects. You will lead the E&I design team, coordinate workloads, and contribute to department strategy.

You will own key design deliverables such as PLC panels, wiring diagrams, and one-line diagrams, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations while collaborating with project managers and discipline

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Electrical & Instrumentation design with leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of offshore and onshore oil and gas facilities design standards.
• Proven ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Design department, including team coordination and performance management.
• Provide technical direction and design oversight on project deliverables.
• Develop design estimates and level-of-effort proposals for new work and project bidding.
• Distribute work to the design team based on skill sets and project requirements.
• Coordinate resource scheduling and monitor workloads to meet timelines and budgets.
• Perform electrical and instrumentation design for onshore and offshore facilities.
• Generate design documents such as PLC panel layouts, one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, lighting layouts, and installation details.
• Interface with engineers and project managers to ensure cohesive execution.

Strategy Engineering is seeking a Senior Electrical & Instrumentation Designer – Lead who will take a hands-on role in detailed I&E design activities across a variety of offshore and onshore oil and gas projects. This position is not only responsible for producing technical deliverables but also for leading the Electrical & Instrumentation Design team, managing workload distribution, and contributing to the strategic success of the department.

As a successful candidate, you will own key electrical system design deliverables, such as PLC panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and one-line diagrams, while ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations. You will also work closely with project managers and multi-discipline leads to coordinate design efforts from concept through construction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee the Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Design department, including team coordination, mentorship, and performance management.
• Provide technical direction and design oversight on project deliverables.
• Develop design estimates and level-of-effort proposals for new work and project bidding.
• Distribute work to the design team based on skill sets and project requirements.
• Coordinate resource scheduling and monitor workloads to ensure project timelines and budgets are met.
• Perform electrical and instrumentation design for onshore and offshore oil and gas facilities.
• Generate design documents such as PLC panel layout drawings, one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, lighting layouts, and installation details.
• Interface and collaborate with engineers, designers, project managers, and other discipline leads to ensure cohesive, cross-functional execution.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in Electrical & Instrumentation design, with demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, including 3D modeling, and Navisworks.
• Strong knowledge of offshore and onshore oil and gas facilities design standards.
• Proven ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
• Skilled in producing detailed design drawings and reviewing vendor documentation.
• Experience with wiring installation details and creating construction-ready documentation.
• Strong communication and team leadership skills.
