Job description

Senior Pipeline Engineer

Play an integral role in Worley's Pipeline Systems team, helping deliver the critical infrastructure that supports energy, chemicals, resources, and emerging energy markets across North America. As energy demand evolves and investment in critical infrastructure continues to accelerate, you will contribute to the design, development, and optimization of pipeline and midstream systems that safely and efficiently transport oil, natural gas, CO, water, hydrogen, and other energy products.

Based in Denver, you will join one of Worley's premier Pipeline Systems Subject Matter Expert (SME) teams supporting projects throughout North America. This team serves as a technical center of excellence for pipeline engineering, providing leadership across the full project lifecycle, from feasibility studies and routing evaluations through detailed engineering, construction support, commissioning, and operational improvement initiatives. Through technical excellence, innovation, and collaboration, you will help customers modernize energy delivery systems, improve infrastructure resiliency, and support the transition to a more sustainable energy future.

Purpose of the role

As a Senior Pipeline Engineer at Worley, you will lead the delivery of engineering and project execution work supporting oil, gas, CO, water, hydrogen, and other pipeline and midstream assets. With a strong background in pipeline systems and energy infrastructure, you will develop and implement engineering solutions that enhance operational efficiency, reliability, safety, constructability, and regulatory compliance.

You will manage engineering activities in accordance with contractual requirements and Worley governance, translating customer and operational objectives into practical execution strategies. Working independently and in collaboration with project and portfolio leadership, you will help deliver predictable project outcomes while strengthening trusted customer relationships across the pipeline and midstream sector.

As a key member of Worley's North American Pipeline SME team, you will provide technical leadership across multiple projects, support the development of engineering standards and best practices, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to solving complex pipeline challenges that impact energy transportation and delivery infrastructure.

Location(s)

Denver, Colorado

This position will be based in Denver and will support a hybrid work environment that combines office collaboration, customer engagement, and project support activities. Based in Denver, the Pipeline Engineering team serves as a technical center of excellence for pipeline and midstream projects across North America, delivering engineering solutions that support new energy infrastructure, system expansions, integrity improvements, operational optimization, carbon capture initiatives, and energy transition projects.

As a member of this team, you will collaborate with experienced pipeline, mechanical, civil, structural, environmental, integrity, and project professionals on projects ranging from gathering systems and transmission pipelines to compressor stations, pump stations, meter facilities, terminals, and carbon capture infrastructure.

You will be responsible for
  • Delivering pipeline engineering services that meet Worley, customer, statutory, and regulatory requirements while maintaining schedule, budget, safety, and quality objectives.
  • Leading and executing pipeline engineering activities for gathering, transmission, distribution, and midstream infrastructure projects.
  • Managing pipeline engineering scope, schedules, technical quality, and project execution requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Developing engineering solutions for crude oil, natural gas, NGL, CO, hydrogen, water, and other pipeline systems.
  • Supporting pipeline routing, hydraulic analysis, wall thickness calculations, pressure design, material selection, constructability assessments, and facility integration.
  • Leading technical evaluations related to pipeline routing, constructability, hydraulic performance, system capacity, integrity management, and long-term asset reliability.
  • Preparing, reviewing, and approving pipeline engineering calculations, technical reports, specifications, material requisitions, and design deliverables.
  • Supporting the design and development of compressor stations, pump stations, meter and regulation facilities, launcher and receiver facilities, and mainline valve sites.
  • Participating in project reviews, customer meetings, risk assessments, constructability reviews, and technical workshops.
  • Identifying technical risks, scope changes, and opportunities to improve project delivery, asset performance, and customer outcomes.
  • Providing engineering support during procurement, construction, commissioning, and startup activities, including technical bid evaluations and field support.
