Job summary

IC Resources in Santa Clara, California, is seeking an experienced photonics engineer to design, implement, and deliver photonic integrated circuits (PICs) with optical gain and lasers on a proprietary heterogeneous silicon-III-V platform, for data center, LiDAR, optical computing, and sensing applications.

You will collaborate across customers, business development, layout, test, and reliability to ensure PICs meet performance targets and drive new products to market.

Qualifications

• PhD required with 8+ years of combined work and doctoral experience.
• Experience with photonic integrated circuits (PICs) and silicon-III-V platforms.
• Ability to lead across engineering, business, and manufacturing teams.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Drive definition, design, simulation, layout, and test of silicon photonic circuits.
• Map customer requirements to the proprietary silicon-III-V platform and define timelines.
• Develop reference PIC designs using industry standards and trends.
• Use design and modeling tools; present results to customers and stakeholders.
• Coordinate packaging, chip interfaces, and fabrication requirements.
• Define test requirements, review plans, and analyze data.
• Identify and prioritize new components for the PDK roadmap; ensure specs.
